To the Editor of the "New Zealand Spectator." Wellington, July 30, 1852.
Sir, — You will oblige me by correcting an error in your report of what I said in the Supreme Court, on Tuesday last, in arguing the case on behalf of Mr. M'Kenzie. I did not' say that '.'I admitted that the publication in question was a scandalous report," but I put the case hypothetically — " supposing or assuming the report to be scandalous, &c." — and reasoned accordingly. It would be a serious reflectionson. my honour as a professional man, if such a s'atement were true ; but it is- not so ; and I hope you will be good enough to correct it. I am, Sir, Your obedient servant,' Geo. Sam. Evans. •
