ANNIVERSARY FETE.
A meeting of the Superintending Committee of the Anniversary Fete was held on Monday afternoon, at Barrett’s Hotel, when the various prizes previously determined ou were awarded to the successful competitors in the Regatta and Rural sports. The awards of the Committee gave very general satisfaction. It was then resolved that the list of subscribers to the Fete, and the Financial Report of the Committee should be published in both of the Wellington newspapers for general information. A vote of thanks was unanimously passed to Captain Clemraents, of the American ship, Lewis, for the aid he rendered to the Aquatic sports by lending three whaleboats, and for his active personal exertions on the occasion. The thanks of the Committee were also voted by acclamation to C. Clifford, Esq. for his kindness in presiding at the meetings, and for the valuable assistance be rendered towards the celebration of the Anniversary.
