We are very sorry to have to record the death, by drowning, of J. Lawson, the second son of Mr. Lawson, of the Hutt. The deceased, who was a fine promising lad of 14 years of age, was preparing to bathe in the Hutt river on Sunday afternoon, when the part of the bank on which he was standing suddenly gave way with him, and he fell into the river. He was very speedily recovered and every means attempted to restore animation, but unfortunately these efforts were not attended with success.
