Ihe following is a summary of Last Thursday s Government Gazette-. —A Proclamation of a Sale at Nelson, of 13 town sections, 10 suburban, and 1 rural section, also the following appointments and notices :—Hon. A. Domett, Colonial Secretary of New Munster to act as Civil Secretary for the Islands of New Zealand : E. Wright Esq. to be Deputy Registrar of the Supreme Court, Canterbury ; Mr. A. Knowles, to be Clerk in the Post Office at Wellington ; D. S. Durie Esq., to be Sub-Collector of Customs at Wanganui ; Notice of Wanganui having deen declared a Port of Entry ; of the hearing of certain Land Claims in Cloudy Bay, by the Commissioner of Land Claims at Nelson ; of a special Meeting of the Justices of the Peace for Wellington, on 2nd December for the transfer of Publican’s Licences; of the approval of two Stores at Lyttelton as Bonded stores; of 44 Crown Grants under , purchases from the New Zealand Company, and 22 Grants under purchases from the Crown at Nelson having been executed bv the Governor-in-Chief; of a sale of Condemned goods by the Customs ; and three other notices which will be found in our fourth page. The following is the amount of notes of the Colonial Bank of Issue in circulation on the 18th October, 1851, being the close of the proceeding four weeks :— £5 and upwards £ 735 Under £5 4727 Total .£5462 Total amount of Coin held by the same Office on the same day;— Gold £ 277 Silver 118 5 Total . ; £‘1462 The sum of four thousand pounds has been invested in the Public funds under the warrant of the Governor-in-Chief.
