Military.—The following promotions and appointments are extracted from the London Gazette: 65th Foot—Lieut. Duncan Bazalgette to be Captain by purchase, vice Wolfe, who retires. Dated 13th December, 1850. Ensign Richard Maxwell Slegg to be Lieutenant by purchase, vice Bazalgette, dated 13th December, 1850. 4tliJFoot —Ensign James Barton, from the 65th Foot, to be Lieutenant, without purchase, vice Harris, dismissed the service by the sentence of a General Court Martial. Dated 7th February, 1851. 65th Foot—Major General Samuel Benja-~jn-.Auchmuty, C. 8., to be Colonel, vice Field Marshal Thomas Grosvenor, deceased. Dated 31st January, 1851. Gentleman Cadet John Owen Jones Priestly from the Royal Military College, to be Ensign, without purchase, vice Barton, promoted in the 4th Foot. Dated 7th February, 1851. 65th Foot—George Buck, Gent., to be Ensign by purchase, vice Slegg, promoted. Dated 14th February, 1851.
