Coroner’s Inquest.—An inquest was held yesterday at the Te Aro Hotel by Dr. Fitzgerald, Coroner, on the body of Richard Walters. The deceased had been for some years passed confined as a lunatic at the gaol, and had attached himself to Mr. Barry, the gaoler. On taking the Te Aro Hote'l, Mr. Barry, with the sheriff’s permission, took Walters with him, and he latterly lived with Mr. Barry, by whom he was very kindly treated. Yesterday morning about breakfast time Walters complained that he felt suddenly ill, and before medical assistance could be procured he was dead. Dr. Monteith, who was sent for, pronounced the cause of death to be apoplexy. Verdict —Died by the Visitation of God.
