Odd Fellows. —On Monday last the Officers and Brethren of the Britannia Lodge, No. 3833, Manchester Unity, celebrated their ninth anniversary. It had been previously determined to arrange a procession, and about ten o’clock the Brethren assembled in their Hall, at the Aurora Tavern, where they were joined by Brethren from the different Lodges in this District, who had been invited to attend. About sixty members having formed themselves in a procession, with a small band of music in front, (the Officers and Brethren wearing their different colours and insignia of office) th AV nrnnpprlnrl t.i fha J I'* Uiv nvcnJjau vuapCl, where an excellent discourse was delivered to them by Mr. J. Woodward. The procession afterwards marched along Lambtonquay to Te Akiwai, and returned across Thorndon Flat to their Lodge Rooms. At five o’clock about eighty persons sat down to partake of an excellent dinner provided for the occasion by Host Firth in his best style. After the cloth was removed the usual loyal toasts, including the healths of Sir George Grey and the Lieutenant-Go-vernor, were drank with much enthusiasm; the health of the “G. M. and Board of Directors of the Manchester Unity” was then heartily responded to with Lodge honors ; other toasts and songs followed in quick succession until 9 o’clock, when the tables were cleared away and the room prepared for the Ball. Dancing commenced at 10; quadrilles, waltzes, and country-dances, were kept up with great spirit until 5' o’clock in the morning, when the party separated highly delighted .with their evening’s amusements.
