Anniversary of 1851. AT a Meeting of the General Committee held at Barrett’s Hotel on the 11th inat., the following gentlemen were appointed a SubCommittee for the purpose of obtaining subscriptions and superintending the following Sports:— Aquatic. Sailing Match £ Dingy Sailing Match £ Whalebaat or Rowing Match £ Waterman’s Skulling Match £ Canoe Race £ Entrances to be made on Monday at Barrett’s Hotel from 8 to 10 in the evening, when conditions will be announced. Committee of Management—John Varnham, W. B. Rhodes, Captain Sharp, S. Carkeek, Daniel Munn, R. J. Deighton. Rural Sports on Te Aro. Foot Race, Jumping in Sacks, Jingling Match, Wheel Barrow Race, &c., &c., &e. As may be decided. Committee of Management—Major Baker, John M'Beth, Rowland Davis, Douglas 'Wallace. W, F. Christian, Treasurer. David Scott, Secretary Wellington, 18th January, 1851. Notice to Shippers and Passengers per the “Lord William Bentinck,” for London. "DASSENGERS by above Ship are JL required to embark on the 31st instant, and all cargo must be alongside one day previous.
