BURNHAM WATER RACES.
On Wednesday and Thursday these races (being the third annual meeting) took place agreeably to the previous announcement. Wednesday was peculiarly favourable, being a fine summer's day with an agreeable wind which produced a pleasant temperature. There was a numerous assemblage of visitors, both equestrians and pedestrians, on the ground. The course has been very much improved since last year, and was in very good order. A new stand had also been erected, being much larger and more elevated than the former one, with a retiring room for the accommodation of the ladies. On Thursday, owing to theTain during the greater part of the day, the attendance was more limited. But on both days the
racing was excellent and was considered to be the best that has yet taken place.
