BURNHAM WATER STAKES.
Eight horses started for this race, (Vampire and Peggy having been "withdrawn), the leading horses keeping well together till-to-wards the end of the heat, when -the' race lay between Nominee and Barbie? c, and was won by the former, Faction and Minawa being distanced. , << In the second heat the race' still lay between Nominee and Barbiere, in coming round the first time the mare shewed symptoms ofr distress, and Barbiere had the lead and kept it to the end of the heat. In this heat Slipper was distanced. s - - Four horses, Barbiere, Bullet Eye, Nominee,*, and Rubens, started for the third heat, but the mare gave up the first time coming round, and Barbiere had it all his own way, Bullet Eye coming in a very good second considering the weight he carried. '
