TURKEY AND GREECE.

We learn by advices from our correspondents of Constantinople, under date of February 7, that the Ottoman Ambassador bad met with a most cordial reception at Athens, but the sincerity and durability of the entente was much doubted. Sarim Pacha, the Minister of Finance, had been appointed President of the Council, in the place of Rifat Pacha. The finances of the state were announced as being in a most prosperous condition. The Pope's nuncio had been entertained and feted with much magnificence, and to his heart's content. A dreadful fire, which, occurred at Keula, in the province of Kutiah, on the 10th of February, consumed the bazaar and the mercantile part of the town, as well as a depot of grain. A force, consisting of 28,936 men (exclusive of militia), was to be stationed at Bagdad, under the command of Abder Pacha.
