Negotiations have been forsome time pending between her Majesty and the EarLof Aberdeen for a lease of Balmoral Castle, in the Abeideenshire Highlands, and having now been concluded, her Majesty has taken that beautiful and romantic place, together with the right of sporting over the circumjacent property, for the unexpired term of the lease held by the late Sir It. Gordon, under the Earl of Fife, a period of not less than twentyeigiit years. The furnilure in the Castle will also, it is understood, become her Majesty's property. That -sublime personage presented the i giaour with coffee and a' splendid jewelled pipe, and they sat on the same ottoman for an hour conversing, on .^things in general, and , puffing their chiboulcs in perfect amity. Tit-
marsh orEothen might have done justice to the scene. A- question arises here why a papal nuncio who can smoke with an infidel m3y not take share of-a-sirloin at Windsor Castle? If not, why not I—Daily N&cs Correspondent-/
