ORIGINAL CRRESPONDENCE. WESLEYAN BISHOPS. To the Editor of the New Zealand Spectator.
Sir, — There appeared, as a leading article in the columns of your contemporary of Saturday last, an absurd extract from the Leeds Times, headed Wesleyan Bishops. And as it is possible that some of jour readers may be interested in the question, you will oblige me by stating, for their information, that the editor of the Leeds Times is.no authority whatever on the subject of Wesleyan Methodist Church Government. He know 3 peihapsas much about the matter as the man in the moon.' I am, Sir, Your obedient servant, Samuel Ironside. Wellington, July 21, 1848.
Embarkation of Troops. — The headquarters of the 99th regiment embarked for Hobart Town yesterday. The troops were accompanied from the barracks to the wharf by General Wynyard and staff. The colony is now without the head-quarters of a regiment, which has not been the case for nearly forty years. The head-quarters of the 11th will not arrive in Sydney until the end of next month. — Syd. Morn. Herald, June 28.
