Second Day. Hon. H. Petre's Purse of £20.
Hurdle Race. Mr. G. Young's Daylight (Grimaldi) 1 I Mr. J. Dorset's Pkormium Tenax (Bromley) 2 0 Mr. St. Hill's Harrybogine (Winteringham) 0 dr. The result of this race disappointed the general expectation, Harrybogine having taken the leaps so well the previous day, that he was generally backed before starting as the favourite. On bringing him to the hurdle he refused to leap, throwing his rider several times, so that the race lay between Phormium and Daylight.
