PU R S U A N T to the Authority in him for that purpose vested by the " Resident Magistrates Courts Ordinance,'* His Excellency the LiEUTENANT-GovERNOiR has been pleased to appoint, that the Acts and Duties of various Local Ordinances required to be done and exercised by the Police Magistrates of Wellington and Wanganui, shall hereafter be done and exercised by Henry St. HilL Esquire, in the District of Wellington, David Stark Durie, Esquire, in the District of Waikajiae, and Captain Joseph Henry Laye (58th Regiment), in the District of Wanganui, the duly appointed Resident Magistrates. By his Excellency's Command, M. Richmond. Superintendent.

HIS Excellency the Lieutenant-Gover-nor, pursuant to the authority in him for that purpose vested by the " Constabulary Force Ordinance," hath caused an Armed Police Force, consisting of: One Inspector, One Sub-Inspector, Four Sergeants, Four Corporals, Forty-teven Privates, To be embodied in the District of Wellington, who have been duly sworn to act as Constables in and throughout the Colony. Secretary's Office, Wellington, 19th March, 1847. SEALED TENDERS, in Duplicate, will be received at this Office, until Noon of Tuesday, the 30th instant, from persons desirous of supplying the Local Government with Fifty-five Soldiers' Great^Coats.
