SALE OF SHEEP.
MESSRS. BETHUNE & HUNTER'S Sale of EWES and LAMBS, as advertised, will take place on Thursday next at the Stockyard—previous to Messrs. James Smith & Co s Sale of Stock. Wellington, 22d March, 1847.
FOR SALE.
2 RAMS, 300 Ewes, and 100 Lambs, at present depasturing on the run of F. R. E. Skipwith, Esq., Watt's Peninsula. They are all in good and healthy condition, and the Ewes have been on the run a twelvemonth, nearly all are in lamb, and about 130 of the same are maiden Ewes. The fleece is very fine. The lambs 3 to 6 months old. As the sheep have to be removed by 25th inst., if not previously disposed of by private contract, will, be sold by public auction on that day. Apply to.Bethvne & Hunter, or Morgan Evans. The above can be seen on the run on application to Mr. Bell, Overseer. Wellington, March 16, 1847.

PROCLAMATION,
By his 'Excellency George G-rey, Esquire, Lieutenant-Governor and Com-mander-in-Chief, in and over her Majesty's Colony <of New Zealand, and its Dependencies, and Vice Admiral of the same, &c, &c. WHEREAS an Ordinance was enacted by the Lieutjenant-Governor of New Zealand, with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council thereof, Session 7, No. 16, -intituled "An Ordinance to provide for the establishment of Resident Magistrates Courts, and to make special provision for the administration of Justice in certain cases ." And Whereas an Ordinance was in like manner enacted, Session 7, No. 15, intituled x< An Ordinance to repeal the Police Magistrates Ordinance," and the "Native Exemption Ordi-
nance :"
-And whereas it was provided by the said rec ited Ordinances, that they should respectively -come into operation throughout the Colony on the Ist day of May, 1847, or on such earlier day, and either throughout the Colony, or -within any District or Districts thereof as his Excellency the Lieutenant-Governor should by Proclamation direct and appoint : Now, -L the Lieutenant-Governor, pursu.ant to the authority in me vested, do hereby ' .direct and appoint that the said recited Ordinances shall this day wholly come into operation within that part of the Cojony of New Zealand . -comprised within the boundaries hereafter described, (that is to say,) commencing twenty miles to the north of Wanganui (Petre,) on the south-west coast, thence by a line to Kidnapper's Point, on the east coast, including all that part of the Island of j New Ulster BOUth «©f the line here described to Cook's Strait Given under my hand and issued under the public seal of the Colony at Wei- \ lington, this eighteenth day of March, in the year of Our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty-seven.
