ORIGINAL CORRESPONDENCE.
In inserting the following letter from Dr. Fitzgerald it is only necessary to observe that, quoting from the official document, we expressly stated the charge for medicine and medical attendance for the natives to be £50 for five months, and that we objected to the principle of taxing the settlers for this purpose, conceiving it more equitable that the expense should be defrayed out of the Parliamentary Grant.—Ed.
