The French corvette Rhin, Commodore Berard, had arrived at Akaroa from Sydney via Bay of Islands, and would remain there until relieved by the Seine. The following whalers had put into Akaroa for refreshments during the season :—: — The American ship Meteor, Sweet, of New
London, fivetnontbs out, with 250 barrels sperm, and 150 barrels black oil. The American ship Commodore, Perry, seventeen months ( ut, 12uO barrels black. The American ship Amazon, six months out, clean. The American ship Ohio, six month* out, clean. The French ship Manche, was entering Akaroa Heads, as the Mana was leaving.
