NELSON.

By the Victoria we have received the Nelson Examiner to Oct. 4th. The militia had been broken up because the Government was unable to bear the expence. On Wednesday morning the men assembled on the fort to deliver up their arms, when Capt. Greenwood made them an excellent address, and proposed that they should volunteer to continue embodied till their prospects brightened ; Bnd that they should assemble for training once a week. It is highly creditable to the battallion that, to a man, they immediately volunteered. Ou Thursday evening, the men dined together at the Freemason's Tavern. An invitation was sent to the officers, and all who were in town were present. The utmost good feeling prevailed throughout the evening, nor did the company separate until a late hour.
