To the Editor of the Spectator.
Sib, — In reference to the application arising out of the valedictory address of the Independent newspaper, I beg to state that the arrangement for the disposal of the types, &c. formerly used in printing the Gazette, and lately in printing the Independent, is a private matter with which the Committee of the Spectator, so far as I am aware, is nowise concerned. I am, Sir, your obedient servant, Samuel Revans. Wellington, Friday Evening, 15th August, 1845.
