MAURITIUS.

A few Mauritius papers have come to hand, but they contain no intelligence of importance. The latest date is the 20th January. We learn that the number of immigrants arrived at Port Louis, from India, from Ist February 1844 to 4th January 1 845, was 6,827 ; the Indian Government having limited the number to 6,000 per annum, the Mauritius were consequently considerably in advance. It is stated that during the year 1844, the number of deaths in Port Louis has been much greater than in former years; the number of deaths is given at 3,065, of births at 1,557; the amount of population being roaghly stated at 20,000.
