The German ship Shakspere left Hamburg on the Bth October for this port, with immigrants, and may be daily expected, being now 98 days out. The SurgeonSuperintendent is Dr. Utterhart, and this will be his second appearance in this port, his last vessel being the Reichstag, from Hamburg, with immigrants, and held the responsible situation as Surgeon-Superinten-dent. No doubt he will receive a welcome, and meet with old faces.

The ship Chile, Captain Smith, sailed for London on Monday forenoon, and cleared the Heads at 11 a.m., where Pilot Simms left her, with a fine fair wind. On leaving the port the various London vessels in harbor made signals—" Bidding adieu," "A pleasant voyage," &c, and after several dippings of the ensign, the Chile, under all possible sail, proceeded out of harbor.

ARRIVAL OF THE PLEIADES. This fine ship, commanded by Captain Davies» cleared the Customs on the 27th of September, and. the docks on the same day. Having reached Gravesend, she took in some cattle and sheep on the 28th ; and started down Channel, anchoring at the Downs the same evening, the wind blowing strong from the westward. On the morning of the 30th she left the Downs, the wind then being W.N.W. and beat down Channel. Landed the pilot en the 2nd October off the Shambles, the wind being at W.S.W., blowing hard and accompanied by rain. This weather continued without any change until the Bth, when the ship arrived in latitude 4620 N. longitude, 10 - 9 W., after which N. W. winds prevailed until the 16th, and calms were then experienced for three days. On the 19th the N.E. trades commenced in 2332; N. and ,22 "50 W., varying to the eastward, continuing till the 27th in <>-2S N., and 26 - 1 W., when they were lost. Light airs from the southward, with calms, were experienced, till the equator was crossed on the sth of November, in longitude 29"22, after being two days standing to the westward. The southeast trades commenced about the equator, and continued (slightly varying to the eastward) till the 12th of October, when the ship was iu 18"42 S., and 27 39 W. From thence she experienced variable winds tiU she reached 41 • S., when the westerly winds set in. Passed the meridian of the Cape of Good Hope on the Ist December in 44'8 S. A curious circumstance transpired about the Bth December, when in 44 31 S., and 51 "20 E. The captain observed a complete change in the color of the water, which had that peculiar green tint seen in shallow places off - shore, but no soundings could be obtained with one hundred fathoms line. Fresh winds, and occasionally strong, were experienced between the meridians of Cape of Good Hope and Cape Lewin, which was reached on the 20th, and passed in 46 "42 S., after which, for the remainder of the passage, the Pleiades experienced light winds, and was in this respect unfortunate, not having a chance to perform the passage in the time a vessel of her build should be capable of. Cape Farewell was observed at daylight on the morning of the 11th, and she arrived in Wellington harbor at about two o'clock on Wednesday morning. The easting was run down between latitude 46 and 47. The most southern latitude reached was 49"33, but no icebergs were met with. The only ships spoken during the voyage were—the Repigadera, from Liverpool to Melbourne, on the 29th of October in S"IG N. and 26'46 W.; and the Thomas Stephens, from London to Sydney, in 4 "14 N. and 27"23 W. On the 14th December, in 46'51 S. and 81 "35 E., an iron vessel was sighted running under close-reefed topsails and proceeding in the same direction as the Pleiades; but they could not speak her, the weather being against them. She appeared to be a British ship, and the captain assumed that she was bound for an Australian port.
