DIOCESAN SYNOD.

Wednesday, 27fch September. Present:—The Bishop, Archdeacon Stock, Revs Fancourt, M'William, St. Hill, Harvey, Knell, Nicholls, Taylor, Messrs Barton, Buchanan, Allan, Moore, Barraud, Bannatyne, Ludlam, Hunter, lay secretary. Archdeacon Stock moved—" That a Diocesan Pension Board shall be formed, to be managed by the standing committee of the Diocese for the time being. That the Bishop, the Archdeacon, B. Pearce, Esq, be the trustees of the capital of the fund." Seconded by Mr Buchanan, and carried. Mr Barraud read the report cf the standing committee and the balance sheet of the diocesan fund, and Archdeacon Stock the balance sheet of the diocesan fund. Report and balance sheets were received. Moved by Mr Halcombe—" That a select committee be appointed to draw up a form of registration for the diocese of church members." Seconded by Rev B. W. Harvey, and carried. Moved by Rev T. JETancourt—" That the permissive statutes 9 and 10 of the General Synod be adopted by the Synod." Seconded by Rev A. Knell, and carried. Moved by Mr Bannatyne—" That a printing committee be appointed." Seconded by Mr Barraud, and carried. Moved by Rev T. Fancourt—"That the former diocesan nominators be reappointed." Seconded by Rev C. H. S. Nicholls, and carried. Moved by Rev 0. H. S. Nicholls—" That the standing committee be reappointed, with the addition of the name of Mr Braithwaite." Seconded by Mr Buchanan, and carried. Notices of motion were given, and the Synod adjourned. Thursday, Sept. 28. Present —The Bishop, Archdeacon Stock, Revs. H. W. St. Hill, A. Knell, B. W. Harvey, J. M'William, C. H. S. Nicholls B. K. Taylor, Messrs A. Ludlam, Braithwaite, J. O. Crawford, R. S. Barton, T. Buchanan, Or. Moore, E. Pearce. The President opened the proceedings with prayer, and confirmed the minutes of the former day. Rev. H. W. St Hill read the report of the committee on parochial accounts, and gave notice that he would move the resolutions attached to the report. Rev. B. W. Harvey laid on the table ad interim report of the revising committee, and gave notice that he would move the resolutions attached to the report. Diocesan assessors were appointed on the motion of Rev. H. W. St Hill, seconded by T. Buchanan, Esq., to hold office for three yeara. Moved by Archdeacon Stock, seconded by Rev. H. W. St Hill, that an endowment fund be formed for the Diocese. » Mr Pearce's suggestion that the capital of the fund be placed in the hands of trustees, and the administration of the fund in the hands of the standing committee, was adopted. Rev. B. W. Harvey obtained a committee to sit during the week to prepare rules for the administration of the pension fund, to be laid before the ensuing Synod. Notices of motion were given by the members of the Synod, and the Synod adjourned.
