MISS 0. KAIY'S SUCCESS CENTRAL TARANAKI EVENT EASY VICTORY IN FINAL [BY TELEGRAPH PRESS ASSOCIATION] NEW PLYMOUTH, Sunday Miss 0. Kay made her first appearance in competitive golf pinco the New Zealand championships at Titirangi last September, when she contested the Central Taranaki ladies' championship at Elthnm during the week-end. She headed those who qualified with a score of 79, leading Mrs. Clark, of New Plymouth, by two strokes, and won her lirst round game easily. In tho semifinal, Miss Kay played brilliant golf to reach the turn in 35, this being one under tho scratch score, and beat Miss Llovd bv G and 5.

In the final, ngainst Miss V. Sangster. .Miss Kay couunuiiced rather poorly, but ;hen settled down to steady golf, and was only two over fours when the game ended lit the 16th. Miss Kay's mashie shots and putting were excellent throughout, whilo her long game was always steady. Miss Kay paid she was well satisfied with her form, eonsidering that she hns not hnd a great deal of practice. She would be playing in tlie New Zealand championships at lleretnunna next month.
