EVENTS AT TE AWAMUTU [from our own correspondent] TE AWAMUTU. Sundny One of the largest attendances soen at Albert Park for a long time assembled yesterday afternoon for the carnival gala and equestrian sports promoted by the Farmers' Executive in the Grandstand Building Queen Carnival. The chief attraction was an exhibition polo match, which was thrilling and keenly contested throughout. Victory went to J. Kay's team (D. Kay. L. R. Kay A. Fisher. J. Kay), by four goals to thrive, scored by It. Kay's team (L. Kay, A. Kay, R. Rownend, 11. Kay). Mr. W. A. Fisher, of Cambridge, was the referee. Other event* decided were as follows: Best school pony: I. McCallum, 1: C. Sutherland, 2: J. Taylor, 3. Polo ball race: First heat. II Kay; second heat, D. Kay; third hoat, F Taylor. Final: H. Kay, 1; F Taylor, 2. Balloon race, girls: J. Gray, 1; B. Swarbrick, 2. Boys: C. Reidpath, J; H Tims. 2. Pack driving: Mili*«rv. G: Farmers. 2; Sports, 3. Boys' high jump: K. Smith and N. Blair, equal. 1. High jump- Boys under 14 years v. Bathurst's pony, won by a boy. Bending competition: First heat, H Kay. 1; second heat. L. Kay; third heat. J. Kay. Final: L. Kay. 1; H Kay, 2. Greasy pig: B. Cunningham, 1. Tug-of-war: A. and P. team beat Rovere team.
