MIRAMAR BOROUGH COUNCIL. TRAMWAYS TO SEATOUN AND MIRAMAR NORTH. PROPOSED SPECIAL LOAN OF £23,000. To be floated locally or otherwise by the issue of Debentures under the provisions of " The Municipal Corporations Act, 1900," "The Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1901," "The Tramways Act, 1894," and the several Acts amending the same respectively. THE MIRAMAR BOROUGH COUNCIL hereby gives public notice that such Council proposes to borrow by way of special loan within the meaning of " The Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1901," and of all other powers (if any) enabling the Council in that behalf, the sum of Twenty-three Thousand Pounds (£23,000) to be expended on the undertaking hereunder set forth : — UNDERTAKING. The construction of Electric Tramway 8 connecting Seatoun and Miramar North with the terminus of the Tramways of the Wellington City Council at Kilbirnie South, on the following routes, viz. : — (a) Kilbirnie to Seatoun route — - Starting from the terminus of the Wellington City Tramways at Lyell's Bay Road: Kilbirnie South, thence along Coutts Street, thence south-easterly to and easterly along the southern boundary of the property of the Watts Peninsula Land Company, Limited, thence in an easterly direction in a direct line and by a tunnel under Beacon Hill to the intersection of Church Street and Dundas Street, Seatoun. (b) Miramar North route — Starting from a point on the "a " route at the intersection thereof by the main south drain through the property of Messrs. A. and C. Crawford ; thence in a northerly direction along such main drain ; thence in a like direction crossing the Old Farm Road along Alexandra Street, crossing Miramar Avenue, and along Park Road ; thence easterly by Rima Street to Matai Road, and thence northerly along Matai Road to the intersection thereof by the proposed Karaka Road. £ Estimated cost of construction and of raising loan and first year's interest .. .. .. 38,800 Estimated contributions from landowners (less survey fees and legal and other costs and expenses) . . 15,000 Amount to be raised . . . . 23,000 The Council proposes to make and pledge an annually recurring Special Rate of one penny (Id.) in the £ on the capital value of all rateable property within the said Borough as security for the said Loan of £23,000, and the interest thereon, and sinking fund in connection therewith. It is proposed that the whole of the loan shall be repayable at the expiration of a term of 26 years from the first day of December, 1905. It is proposed to pay out of the Loan the cost of raising the loan and the interests thereon for the first year. Dated at Wellington this 3rd day of November, 1905. R. E. BENNET, Town Clerk. IN the matter of " The Rating on Unimproved Value Act, 1896," " The Municipal Corporation Act, 1900," "The Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1901," " The Local Elections Act, 1904," and the Acts amending the same respectively — I hereby give public notice that a POLL of the Electors of the Borough of Miramar WILL BE TAKEN on MONDAY, the 30th DAY of NOVEMBER, 1905, on the Proposal, "That 'The Rating on Unimproved Value Act, 1896,' be adopted in the Borough of Miramar, and that henceforth property be rated upon the basis of the unimproved value thereof."
