MIRAMAR BOROUGH COUNCIL. THE GENERAL BY-LAW, 1905.

OTICE is hereby given that at a i Special Meeting oi the Mniamai Borough Council, held on Wednesday the Ist day of Febiuary, 1905, the following resolution was passed, namely Resolution . The Council of theßoiough ot Mixamai heieby makes (by Special Ordei) the following By-law undei or b\ vntue of "The Municipal Coiporatious Act, 1900," lie Public Health Act, 1900," The Public- Domains Act, 1881, 'I he Public Reserves Act, 1881," 'The Dangerous Goods Act, 1882, ••The Fencing Act, 1895," and the vai ious Acts, amending the same respectively, and under or by virtue or in pursuance of all or any othei Acts or powers whatever (it .my) enabling the said Council m that behalf. The object and purport of the pioposed by-law (which i» to apply to the whole ot the boiough), aie — 1. To make provision for the service of notices, and declaring what are offences, and tuirthen offences, against the by-law, and penalties thereunder. 2 To make pi ovision for the preve ition of nuisances and the regulation oi traffic upon, ut>e of, the prevention ot encroachments upon, and the lighting of obstiuctionfe on, streets, making provisions for surface and storm w atet , the use of barbed wive on fences , as to trees overhanging streets, pioviding and maintaining stieet crossings , naming of streets . and the construction ot footways. 3. To make provis on for regulating the traffic of bicycles, vehicles, and horses on streets. 4. To make provisions regulating (a) explosives, or dangerous materials in buildings or open spaces, and the licensing thereof ; (b) against the keeping of brothels, disorderly houses, etc, (c) as to the removal of buildings and re-using materials. 5. Fees for the licensing of public halls, and powers of entry and 1 inspection by Inspectors of Nuisances. 6. To make provisions for sanitation, removal of niehtsoil, prevention of nuisances, and as to refuse, offensave matters, pollution or obstruction of wateioouiises, disposal of manure, dead animals, keeping of swine, bathmig in public, slaughtering of animalls, etc. A full copy of the By-law is deposited for inspection at the Office of the

Borough Council, Huntei -street, Wellington, and is open toi inspection, ot the public during office houis horn the 21*t day oi Febiuaiy, 1905, to the lfet day ot March, 1905. The above Resolution will be submitted for confirmation at the Oidmiary Meeting of the Council to be held on Wednesday, the Ist clay of Mai eh, 1905, at 7.30 p.m., at the said Office, of the Boirough Council, when the date upon which the said By-law shall com© into foice will be fixed.
