WELLINGTON CITY COUNCIL. PROPOSED SPECIAL LOAN OF £77,000. To be floated locally (or elsewhere) by issue of Debentures at 4£ per cent, undjei the provisions of "The Municipal Co-i porations Act, 1900," "The Local Bodies Loans Act, 1901." and "The Tramways Act, 1894." HE Council of the City of Wellington hereby give public notice that such Council proposes to borrow (by way of Special Loan within, the meaning of "The Local Bodies Loans Act, 1901") the. sum of £77,000, to be expended on the undertakings as here'under set forth : — Construction of Extension of the Electric Tramways to and in £ £ (1) Island Bay District 16,200 10 per cent, foi first year's interest and contingencies . . 1,620 17,820 (2) Ohiro District . . 21,610 10 per cent, for first year's interest and contingencies . . 2,161 23,771 (3) Kilbirnie District .. 32,190 10 per cent, for first year's interest and contingencies . . 3,219 35,409
£77,000 Each of the above sums being appropriated to the district and the work as above set forth. The Council proposes to pledge a Special Rate of one penny-halfpenny (I^-d) in the £ on the rateable value (on the basis of the Unimproved Value) of all rateable property within the Island Bay, Ohiro, and Kilbirnie Districts, now known as the 1 Melrose. Ward of the City of Wellington, as security for the said Loan of £77,000 and the interest and sinking fund) theneon. It is proposed that the whole of the amount of the Loan shall be repayable at the expiration of a term of 25 years, eomrjuted from the Ist day of September, 1904.
