rPHE "CHAMPION" DEFENDEES OF JL THE NOETH. ALWAYS EEADY! Fiom the "Daily Telegraph," Napier, 20th February. "From information which has reaeueu us we are led to understand that at the annual meeting of the Millers' Combine yesterday it was decided to continue the operations which have rendered the syndicate notorious during the last couple of yeais but to make an exception in regard to Auckland. If that is so it appears that other towns are still to suffer from the monopoly sought to be established. In Auckland the Combine have met their match, so far, in the Northern Eoller Milling Company, producers of the ' Champion ' Brand. The Company, by refusing to have anything to do with the Combine, prevented the latter taking an unfair advantage of the householders of that province, and to a certain extent have assisted other districts to fight the unwholesome monopoly in breadstuffs which affects the the table of the working classes to such a substantial extent. This has been done by establishing agencies in other towns for the sale of the Company's Flour. Napier has been benefited in that way, and as the Company are engaged in such a straggle, it behoves all interested in the issue to support them." NOETHEEN EOLLEE MILLING CO., AUCKLAND. P. VIETUE, Manager.
