In addition to the retiring Directors, there is a further vacancy, caused through the death of Mr. James. Smith. CITY LICENSING ELECTION. TO THE ELECTORS OF WELLINGTON CITY. AT the request of a large number of Electors I have decided to become a Candidate at the present Licensing Election. I do so at some per&onal inconvenience and probable pecuniary loss in connection with my business but feel that at the present juncture it is absolutely necessary in the interests of the community at large that men determined to act independently and fearlessly should become Candidates. lam no nominee of any section or party, and am entirely independent in this contest. It appears to me that it is the desire of the great mass of Electors whose only wisih is good government, that strong mem determined to strictly enforce the present Licensdna: Acts in the interests of the public, should be returned.
