Fell (Commodoie of the Port Nicholson Yacht Club) has intimated his intention of entertaining the members of tlie club at his seaside residence between T)a\'s Bay and Low n Bay. so \achtsmen can look forward to spending a pleasant afternoon early in the approaching season. At last (thanks to Dr Fell) a scheme for the election of a yacht slip has been foimulated, and has received the endorsement of that club. It is propo&ed to form a company, with a capital of LI "500, in £1 shares, to carry out the work. The Patent Slip Company is giving the lease of a flat piece of land to the noi th of its own woiks as a site for the proposed slip. The spot is in eveiy wav suitable for the purpose and, if the puncipal difficulty can be overcome, Wellington will have facilities for slipping yachts which will not bo found in any other part of the colony The yacht Mawhiti is already in commission, and looks spick and span She lea\es on a throe-days' trip to Toiy Channel on the King's Birthday. The following are the crew A Pont-\ L Sargeant W. Moore and N. Stone The Viking, owned by Messrs Henbhilwood and McKeover, is reach foi the w atei and will be launched this week. The ciew will consist of J Redmond J Scott B Taylor and O. Fiexberg The Kotuku (late Iris) is leadv for the water She has changed hands and is now owned b\ Messrs Ryan and party, and has undoiejono a complete oveihaul at theii hands. The Kotuku and Viking will accompan\ Mawhiti on the Tory Channel ti lp.
