RESIDENT MAGISTRATE'S COURT.

MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 22nd, 1802,

ASSAULT

Janus Marshall, a gunner of the Royal Artillery, was charged with an assault on Constable William Negus on the 18th September Inst. Defendant pleading guilty, was lined 20s. and costs, or in default, to be imprisoned for one week with hard labour.

LARCENY

John Tutara was charged by Joseph Antonia with stealing two pairs trousers, one prir flannel drawers, one blue and one check shirt, valued altogether at 10s. (id., from the cutter Betsy, on the night of the 21st instant.

William Wilding and Henry Speare wcro then brought up and charged with the above offence and fined ss. each and costs, or twenty four hours hard labour. Mary O'Laugh lin was also charged for the fifth time with the same offence, and ordered to pay 20s. and costs, or forty eight hours' hard labour, and seven days afterwards.
