AUCKLAND STOCK AND SHAKE MARKET.

Auckland Stock Exchange.

The Share Market has bepn extremely quiet during the past week, aud holders of the different stock do not appear to be tempted to sell at the prices quoted, but even to look for a further advance. Both New Zealand Bank and Insurance shares have maintained their last week's value. The Gas shares are firmer in consequence of the almost certain prospects of the Company being in a position to supply Gas by next winter. The arrival of Keven's Quartz Crushing Machinery has given an impetus to Coromandel operations, aud has led to arrangements being made to work some of the other reefs. The main reef in Brackenbury's Claim has proved under a recent test to be highly remunerative. In my next I shall be able to report more fully upon various of the claim'.
