Sale of Horses. — On Saturday last the Horses imported by the William Hyde were offered for sale by Auction in the Stockyard of the Royal Exchange Hotel, by Mr. J. Newman. The attendance was large, the competition spirited, and the prices realized very good. Seven Saddle and Harness Horses were sold at an average of £26 10s. each, and twelve unbroken Horses at an average of £23 each. Cattle Sale at Howick.— On Wednesday last Mr. Newman held the first of a Quartery Auction Sale of Cattle in Mr. Lewis’s Paddock at Howick. The stuck offered was of good quality. Two years old Heifers were sold at an average of £6 each; Dry Cows at an average of £6 to £Q ; and Steers at prices ranging from £5 to £7 10s.
