which the contract is made or agreed to be made. 11.—No Transfer of a Contract will be permitted without the previous consent of the undersigned, or his successor in office. 12.—When supplies are objected to by the person to whom they are tendered, they are to be submitted to a Board of Survey, according to the custom of the service, (Naval or Military, as the case may be,) and if rejected by the Board, other supplies of a satisfactory "nature are to be immediately substituted, or else the Commissariat Department will cause purchases to be made, and charge the expense against the Contractor. 15.—1n the event of more than three rejections, according to the previous condition, of any one article of supply occurring during any one calendar month, it shall bo optional with the undersigned, or his successor in office, to end the contract at once, and to enforce the penalty of the bond. li.—Contractors must be prepared to supply whatever may be demanded by the Commissariat, without reference to the service for which the supplies may be required, whether Military, Naval, or any other. J5. —The Contractor to prepare his own account, monthly, according to the prescribed form, and on producing the same with the requisite vouchers, in a complete state at this office, he will receive payment by means of a Bill upon the Lords Commissioners of Her Majesty's Treasury., at par, when the amount (\ue exceeds 50/., — when under that amount, payment will be made in rash. 10. —The supplies required shall be delivered by the Contractor direct to the person or persons entitled thereto, on the order of the Senior Commissariat Officer, or of any person to be deputed by hint for that purpose. Each Tender to be in duplicate, sealed, and endorsed "Tender for Annual Supplies at Auckland." A Tender once sent in, cannot be withdrawn or altered. Information as to what Tenders have been accepted, will be given within three days of the lime appointed for opening them, and the Bond must then be completed without delay. Should any person who may sign a Tender, either as a proposed Contractor or as a Surety, refuse to fulfil his offer on any unsatisfactory excuse, lie will be considered ineligible in future to act in cither capacity. HPENDERS will be received at this Office, -i. until noon of V> r i:nxi:snAvlhe oth March next, from persons willing to Contract to furnish such means of Transport, and also such supplies of Water as may be demanded by the Undersigned, or by his Successor in Office, during the twelve calendar months commencing Ist, April next. The rales for the following distances to be slated at per 100 feel for Timber, at per 1000 for Shingles, and al per Ton of 2,2-iOlbs. of all other articles, viz. : Between the Beach and the Coal Depot in Official Bay. Between the Beach and Britomart Barracks. Between the Beach and Albeit Barracks. Between the Beach and the various Officers Quarters. " Between the Albert Barracks and Britomart Barracks. From any one part of the Town to any other part of the Town, or to Albert or Britomart Barracks. When any smaller quantity Shan a Ton, or than 100 Feet of Timber, or 1,000 Shingles may be conveyed, payment will be made in the proper proportion. The Water to be of the best description and to be delivered at either of the Barracks as directions may be given to the Contractor. The price to be slated at per 100 gallons. The Contractor wil be required to provide. such assistance in loading and unloading as is given customarily by Carters in that respect. The Contractor will be required to give a Bond—with two sureties—for 100/. for the due performance of his Contract, and the proposed sureties must sign an undertaking on the face of the Tender to enter into such Bond. Payment to be made monthly, when under 50/. in cash ; when exceeding that amount, in Treasury Bills at par. Philip Turner, Assislant-Commissary-General. HPENDEBS will be received at this Office, J- until noon of Wednesday the 9th March next, from persons willing to Contract for furnishing such quantities of STRAW as maybe required by the Barrack Department, at Auckland, during the twelve calendar months commencing Ist April next. The Straw must be delivered at such times and places, and in such quantities as maybe directed by the Officer in charge of the Barrack Department, to whose approval the same is to be subject.
