Dip Candles, 1 Sperm Candies, of English J Manufacture, Firewood, at per 100 lbs. Common Oil, at per Imperial Gallon Cotton Wick, at per lb. FORAGE FOR HORSES OF MOUNTED OFFICERS, AT PER RATION. The Ration to be—lOlbs. Oats 141bs. May 81bs. Straw, FOR HOSPITALS. Fresh Reef or Mutton, Fine \ Bread, Flour, Arrowroot, / car j ) Sago, Rice, Tea, Sugar, V at Oatmeal, Salt per lb. Soan. Potatoes. Pearl Bar-% 1 ley, Mixed Vegetables, ) Lime Juice. Porter, Port Wine, Brandy—each, at per bottle. Milk, Vinegar—each, at per pint. Eggs, at per doz. Fowls, each. GENERAL PURPOSES. Flour, Biscuit, Tea, Sugar, \ Raisins, Tobacco, Salt, ' Soap, Mixed Vegetables, Pepper, Mustard, at peri lb., each. Oatmeal, Split Peas, Whole; Peas, at per bushel of 64( pints, each. 1 Rum, West India, S percent ] under proof, and Vinegar, / at pei- gallon each. / These Articles will, with feu* inceptions, be required for Ships of •■ ar, and when they are eo required they are to be delivered (free of extra charge) in such packages as an; usually provided for the Naval SerGENERAL CONDITIONS. \ . —All Ihe Articles to be of the best marketable quality of their several kinds. 2. —The Flour to be the produce of clean sound Wheat, from which 20 per cent in Bran has been extracted. 3.—The Bread shall also be the produce of clean sound Wheat, and shall be baked 24 hours before being issued in loaves of 21bs. each. A strict observance of this condition will invariably be enforced. A. —The Fresh Meal, to consist of Beef and Mutton, to be delivered—if so required—in the proportion of 5 ibs. of Beef, and 2 lbs. of Million weekly. Fore and hind quarters to be delivered alternately when the quantity permits. When Beef is issued 6 inches are to be cut off ihe hough and neck bones. s.—The Firewood to be Tea Tree or other hard wood, split and cut into lengths of four feet. The contractor for supplying Firewood must have constantly on hand, at Auckland, in a place to be approved by the undersigned, or his Successor in office, a stock sufficient for fourteen days consumption, from which stock alone the issues are to be made. The stock to be at all times subject to the inspection of the Commissariat, and all wood that is objected to at such inspection must be immediately removed. The Wood, although paid for by weight, according to the Tender, must be delivered by measurement, and stacked for that purpose by Ihe contractor on delivers ; 71 cubic feet being considered equivalent to a ton of 2240 Ibs. 6.—The Mould and Dip Candles are to be properly seasoned by being kept on hand by the Contractor for a suitable period after Manufacture. 7. The Mixed Vegetables are lo be supplied in reasonable proportions of Greens, Onions, S c, cv.c. B.—The Articles required for Hospitals must be comprised in one Tender, and the same rule applies to those required for Ships of War. The other articles may be tendered together or separately, but when more than one article is included in a Tender it should be staled whether it will he optional with the undersigned, lo make such selections as may be thought desirable, or whether it is imperative that the whole should cither be accepted or rejected. 9.—Each Tender must be accompanied by a statement, signed by two competent persons, and expressing their readiness, in the event of the Tender being accepted, to become sureties for its due performance by entering into a Bond, the penalty of which will be equal to the estimated amount of three months supplies. 10.—It shall be in the power of either party to limit the duration of the Contract by giving in writing a notice of three calendar months to the opposite party, and to end the contract at the expiration of that period.
