Latto, of the Berwick Castle, lor slating, that had he (Capt. Latto) been aware that brass and other metal castings and ship’s smith work in general could have been manufactured in Auckland, (hat when he carried away his rudder on the passage from the Falkland Islands to Hobart Town, he would at once have bore up for this port; as by so doing he would have saved much time, escaped much had weather, and spared his owners at least 500 L Mr. Bourne is, therefore, desirous that the Mercantile Marine of the Southern Pacific should he made aware that all defects of such a character can he made good at the Auckland Ikon and Brass Foundry. Matthews, Member of the Royal College of Surgeons of London, Ac., has taken the premises of the late Mr. Mackenzie, where lie intends to devote Ins time and attention lo an indoor practice, the drug trade, and the compounding of those remedies which, from long experience as a medical man, he has proved active either for the alleviation of pain, or the removal of disease. A list of Patent Medicines and Preparations will soon be published. A valuable assortment of Isinglass and other Plasters, spread on silk, gold-beater’s skin, 6- c., has been just received. A Lady cured of Asthma after Twenty Years'' Suffering, by the use of Holloway s Pills. mH E Wholesale Agent-for the sale of L Holloway’s Pills in New South Wales, alludes, in a letter to Professor Holloway, to several extraordinary cures of Asthma, effected in that Colony, by the use of these invaluable Pills; and to one case in particular—that of a lady residing near a hill named the Razorback, who, after having for twenty years been afficted with great difficulty of breathing, and unable, in consequence, lo bear the slightest exertion, at last used this remedy, and is now, to use her own expression, able to run to the top of that high bill. Extraordinary euro of Rheumatic Fever by Holloway's Pills , in Van Diemen's Land. Margaret M‘Connigan, nineteen years of age, residing at New Town, had been suffering from a violent rheumatic fever for upwards of two months, which bad entirely deprived her of the use of her limbs. During this period siie was under the care of three of the most eminent medical men in Hobart Town, and by them her case was considered hopeless. A friend prevailed upon her parents to try Holloway’s celebrated Pills, which they consented lo do, and in an incredibly short space of lime a perfect cure was effected.
