TO THE ELECTORS OF THE BAY OF ISLANDS ELECTORAL DISTRICT. GENTLEMEN,— I have received from so many electors, who voted for one or other of my opponents at the late election, assurances of regret that they had promised their votes before they were aware of my intentions, that I cannot for one moment doubt the favourable result of another election. While therefore I take this method of returning my thanks to those who, on the late occasion, favoured me with their suffrages, and to those who expressed regret at being unable to do so, I beg leave also to announce my intention to offer myself for your support on the next occasion. It is my opinion that the Bill giving a new Constitution to New Zcalaud would, with more or less of modification, have become law before the dissolution of Parliament, and that there consequently must be another election within six or eight months at the farthest. The probability, however, is that the recently elected Council will not meet, and that a new election will take place within as many weeks. I have the honor to remain, Gentlemen, Your most obedient servant, James Busry
