The price to be stated at per ration, for either of the above scales, it not being indispensable that both scales should be tendered for. The Forage to be delivered by the Contractor at the quarters of the several Officers and persons entitled, at such times, and in such quantities as may be directed by the undersigned, or his successor in office. The different articles composing the Ration are to be of the best marketable description in every respect, and when a difference of opinion as to quality may arise, it is to be decided by a Board of Officers to be appointed by the Officer in command of the Troops for the !ime being. Should the decision of the Board be adverse to the Contractor, he must immediately furnish other articles of a satisfactory description, or else the Commissariat will cause purchase to be made, and charge the expense against the Contractor. It shall be in the power of either party to limit the duration of the Contract by giving, in writing, a notice of three calendar months to the opposite party. Such notice lo be given only from the first day of a month. No transfer of a Contract will be permitted without the previous consent of the Senior Commissariat Officer. The Contractor to prepare his account monthly, according to the usual Form, and on producing the same, supported by proI per Vouchers, will be paid in cash when the ' amount is under £50, when above that sum, payment will be made by a Treasury Bill at par. Each Tender must be accompanied by a statement signed by two competent persons, and expressing their readiness, in the event of the Tender being accepled, lo become Sureties for its due performance, by entering into a Bond, the penalty of which will be the same as the estimated amount of three months supplies. The Tenders to be in duplicate, and, when once sent in, are not lo be altered or withdrawn. Information as to the Tender accepted shall be given as soon as the decision has been made in that respect, and the Bond must then be completed without delay. Should any person who may sign a Tender, either as a proposed Contractor or as a Surety, refuse to fulfil his offer, he will be considered in future as ineligible to act in either capacity. Any further information, particularly with regard to the delivery of the [Forage by the Contractor, may be obtained on application at this office. Philip Turner, Assistant Commissary General.
