SIR, — Allow me to present to yourself, and the corps under your command, my sincere thanks for their exertions at the fire on my premises on Saturday the 18th instant. If it might not be deemed invidious on my part where all behaved in so praiseworthy a manner, I would venture to bring under your especial consideration the conduct of Gunner Kirkwood, who, before the Fire-engine and the other troops arrived, mounted on the roof and by his exertions contributed greatly to keep the flames in subjection. REMOVAL OF MILLINERY ESTABLISHMENT. i- _ AHAMER begs respectfully to inform • the Ladies of Auckland and its neighbourhood that she has removed from Queenslreet to a Shop in Shortland-street, nearly opposite the Southern Cross Office, which she intends opening on Thursday, the 23rd inst., when a large and elegant assortment of Straw and Fancy Bonnets will be ready for inspection ; also, a variety of Fancy Shawls, Habit Shirts, Muslin Collars, &c, &c. Every description of Silk and Straw Bonnets cleaned and altered to the present fashion.
