Publicans' Licenses.
The following are the names of the persor>3 whose applications for Publicans' Licenses will come under the consideraiion of the Magistrates on Tuesday next, the 15th instant. It will be observed that there are an unusually large number of new applicants. Were they all to succeed, the public-houses in Auckland and its neighbourhood would be nearly doubled at once. At all events', so far as these Houses are necessary for public accommodation, it is obvious that they should beas much as possible confined to the leading thoroughfares. Iti the back and little frequented streets they too frequently become rather nuisances and receptacles of vice. Names. Sign of House. Residences. Richard J. Hunt Masonic Hotel Princes street.
