Colonial Secretary's Office, Auckland, Decembersth, 1850. ff^B"IS Excellency the Governor-in-Chief IjL has been pleased to grant the following Pensions for wounds received during the suppression of the late rebellion at the Bay of Islands, according to the provisions of the " Pensions Ordinance," No. 3, Ses&ion 10, To Mark Dent Is. per diem, " Wm. Waka Turau. ... Is. per diem, to commence fiom the Ist of September, 1850, and to Edmund Powell Is. per diem. to commence from the Ist of November, 1850, each for a period of two years. With refeience to the foregoing Pensions His Excellency directs it to be notified that the following legulation respecting Pensions to Soldiers, contained in the " Boyal Warrant and Regulations regaiding Army Services," will be made applicable as far as possible to Pensions granted according t<; the Ordinance above refened to. Page 21 2, ait. 6th:— "The amount of Pension granted by the Commissioners of Chelsea Hosiiital shall not exceed the rates fixed by this regulation. In special cases, however, of men whose disabilities shall have mci eased subsequently to their leaving the service, the Commissioneis may reconsider such cases, if any peculiar circumstances justifying such apiocecding shall occur, nnd be brought forward within two years after the original grant of pension was made."
