SEALED TENDERS, in duplicate, for the - supply of FIREWOOD, for the scivice of this department, will be received at this office until noon of Friday nex r t, the 30th instant. The Wood is to be delivered in such quantities, and at such times and places, within the limits of the Town of Auckland, as may be directed by the Senioi Commissaiiat Officer, or by any person to be deputed by him. The supply t© commence on the Ist August, 1848, and end on the 31st March, JBl9. " The Contractor will be required to keep a stock on hand of not less than S5O tons measurement, to be stacked in lows of foui feet high, and for this puipo.se a portion of ground in Albert Barracks will be allowed, if mpined by the Contractor, and no issues ore to be made except from the quantity so stacked. The Firewood to consist entirely of Tea Tiee or other hard wood, split, and cut into four feet lengths, and in all other lespecls suitable for the seivice, and to be subject to the inspection, 1 prior to its deliveiy, of an officei of this department, whose decision as to quality shall be final. The price to be stated in the tenders at per ton of measurement.
