By an arrival from Maori, we learn that the Katn. schatka whaling fleet have had a luccesiful leisou.— Moat of the ships heard from bad filled up, and we trait that the others will soon give as good an account of themseWes. Last year they were in early, having bad a poor leaion. Ibjs year they appsar to be out about a month later, owing to the abundance of whales. Wt shall soon have our port filled, and business will be active.— Poiynetian.
Notic* to ,Whalwis.— Hillo, Byron's Bay, Hawaii, is a tree port to wbate ships of all nation', the only charge being one dollar for clearance ; pilotage beii q abolished by the law of the 14th of June, 1847.— 1b. ' No grogshops at thli port, toniequently but little ti ouble or desertion among teamen. Wood six dollars per cord, and recruits proportionally cbeap, making it a detirable port for whale ships to recruit. There ii not on record an accident to the shipping at thin Bay. — Always in raadineis an old experienced pilot— Ibid.

Mails.— The mail by the Rosetta Joseph, for Sydney and England, will close this day at 3 o'clock. For Hobart Town by the Triton, and for Launceston, by the Thomas Lord, at 1 1 o'clock.
