Cln\rton, Buddie, nnd "Forest; the Native Secretary; John Johnson, M. D. ; Alex. Shepherd, William Brown, Thos. Outhwaite, J. I. Montefiore, Alex. Kennedy, W. S. Grahame, David Rough, JolmMucdougall, D. Grahame, James Dilworth, Thomas S. Forsaith, William Council, J. L. Campbell, Esqrs. Accountants :— J. I. Montefiore, J. Dilworth, and J. L. Campbell, Esqrs., undertake the duties for the first six months, until the Bank appoints a salaried Officer. Hours of Attendance at the Auckland Savings' Bank.— -Oflicc at J. I. Montefiorc's Esq., Lower Queen Sheet.— To receive Deposits, Saturdays, from 7toB in the Evening. To malic Poymenls to Depositors, Mondays, from 12 to 1 in the Afternoonw The Bank is closed during the two first weeks in January of each year. 1.~-Management. The Governor to be President of the Bank, and tho management of its affairs vested in eighteen Trustees, one of whom to bo tho Colonial Secretary, for the time being, who slmll act, ex officio, as Vicc-Prcsidcnt No Trustee to derive any benefit from his office or deposit in the Bank. . 2.— Power of Trustees. That the Trustees shall have iull power to superintend, manage, and conduct the general business of the Bank, fill up vacancies in their own number, (which appointments to be afterwards approved of by tho Governor), appoint Aocountants or other Officers who may be deemed necessary, or, withdraw the same. And at the meetings of tho Trustees for such purposes, any five Trustees shall form a quorum : provided that such five Trustees have been assembled at a meeting, whereof duo notice shall have been given to all tho other Trustees, tho Senior of whom (by order of appointment) present shall preside as Chairman, and shall not only vote as a Trustee, but shall also in case of the equality of votes, have a casting or decisive vote. 3.— Calling of General Meetings of Trustees. That it shall be in the power of any one Trustee, through the Vice-President, to call a General Meeting of the Trustees ; but should tho Vice-President deem it unnecessary to call a meeting for the purpose for which the Trustee may have made such application, then on the written requisition of five Trustees, the Vice-Pre-stdent shall be bound to grant the application, and call the meeting accordingly. 4.— "lnvestment of Money. That the Money of the Bank shall be invested in Government Securities only, until tho Trustees shall act under the authority of an Act of Council. s.— Money of the Bank how to he Deposited. That the Receipts shall be deposited in the Chest of the Bank, (to be lodged in tho Brick Store of J. I. Montefiore, Esq , Queen-street), by the Trustee who shall receive the same, accompanied by the Accountant, and that the Chest of the Bank shall not be opened except ,■ in the presence of a Trustee and the Accountant. 6.-~~Limitulion of Deposits. That Deposits shall be received in any sum or sums of money not being of less value than One Shilling, nor by one or more successive deposits exceeding the sum •f Fifty Pounds. 7 '-"lnterest on Deposits (to be declared hereafter). That as the rate of Interest (if any) which Depositors will receive will depend on the success of the establishment of this Institution, such rate of interest will be declared hereafter. ft.-— Attendance of Trustees. ft That one Trustee, in rotation, successively, and the Accountant, shall attend at the Office of the Bank every Saturday evening, (except the first and second Saturdays of January), at 7 o'olock, and remain there until 8, for the purpose of receiving Deposits, as may be offered agreeably to the Rules of the Institution, and entering such Deposits when received in the rough cash book and in the Duplicates of the accounts to be kept by Depositors, as after mentioned ; and the Office shall be open every Monday morning, (except the first and second Mondays in January), between the hours of 12 and 1 o'clock, for the purpose of making re-payment to Depositors. 9. — Attendance and Duly of Accountant. It shall be the duty of the Accountant in Auckland, to attend the Weekly and all other Meetings of the Trustees, and to keep regular and distinct Books of the whole affairs of the Bank, the transactions of which shall be duly entered and posted therein, as also the accounts of Depositors in the Districts from Lists furnished to him by the District Accountants, (when such shall exist), and the whole shall be regularly balanced on the 31st day of December, in each year— exclusive of which, the trial balance to the last day of each of tho other three quarters of the year shall, likewise, be prepared by him on the close of each quarter. 10.— Account Books. The Books to be kept shall consist of a rough and fair Cash, Journal, and Ledgers, and a Minute Book, wherein shall be entered the Minutes of the Proceedings of the Trustees at all their Meetings. 11.— 'Description and Declaration of Depositors, AH persons, whether Europeans, or Aborigines of the country, (to whom the benefits of this Institution shall extend), becoming Depositors in the Bank, must, on, and previous to, making their first Deposit, disclose their names, professions, business, occupations, callings, and residences, and sign a declaration acknowledging that they, or the person on whose behalf such Deposit is made, have received due and full notice of the Rules and Regulations of the said Bank, and that the same aio binding on them and their Representatives, and that they are not directly or indirectly entitled to any Deposit in, or benefit from, any sum or sums of money standing in the name or names of an} other person or persons in the Books of the said Bank. And in case any such declaration shall not be true, evety such person (or the person on whose behalf such declaration may have been signed) shall forfeit and lose all right and title to such Deposits, and the Trustees shall cause the sum or sums so iorfeitcd to be placed to the credit of the funds of the Institution. 12.— -Deposit Books or Duplicates. All Deposits and Re-payments are to be entered in the Books of the Bank, and also in a Deposit Book or Duplicate to be given gratis to each Depositor on opening an account with the Bank, and in which the sum Tecciveil or paid on each occasion is to be entered in words at length, and signed with the initials of one Trustee and the Accountant — and whenever any business is transacted, the Deposit Book or Duplicate must Le produced ; and in case any Depositor snail lose the Book or Duplicate, immediate notice must be given to ] the Accountant, who, upon a satisfactory explanation being given of the loss, and payment of two shillings and sixpence in aid of the funds of the Bank, will fill up another Book or Duplicate, to bo copied from the Depositors account in the Bank Ledger : but if any money shall have beeu drawn from the Bank by any other person producing such Book or Duplicate, and representing himself or herself to*be the Depositor mentioned therein, before such notice shall have been given to the Accountant, or if such Depositor shall fail or neglect altogether to give such notice, the loss shall fall on the Depositor so losing his or her Book or Duplicate.
