To our Subscribers and Readers.
"We have much pleasure in announcing to our Subscribers, and to the public in general, that we shall be enabled, from Wednesday next, to publish the New Zealander half weekly. We have long felt, that in consequence of the increasing commerce and prosperity of the settlement, as well as the more frequent arrival of shipping in our port, bringing news and newspapers irom ioreign parts, that increased activity on our part was called for. Our readers will no longer complain of our Saturday columns being loaded wilh stale intelligence, sometimes of necessity six days old, which they could have supplied to us as well as we to them ;— and, with respect to Advertisers, the advantage to them of a more frequent medium of advertising is too obvious to need mention. We do not intend to increase the terms of subscription in proportion to our double weekly issue — regular Subscribers will be charged Nine Shillings per quarter, but for single numbers, the price will still be Sixpence.
