ANNUAL CONTRACTS. Commissariat Office, Barracks, Auckland, 13th January, 1847. NOTICE is hereby given that Tenders will be received at this Office, by the Undersigned, Until Friday, the 26th day of February next, at noon, for furnishing the Commissariat at Auckland with the supplies undermentioned, in such quantities as may be required during the twelve calendar months, commencing the Ist of April next, under the conditions heieafter specified, viz : — Bread, at per lb. Fresh Beef or Mutton, at per lb. or The ration of Bread and Meat, consisting of one pound of each, may be tendered, at per Ration Flour, at per lb. Biscuit, at per lb. Rum, West India, 5 per cent, under proof, (Duty to be paid by UieContractor,) at pei Imperial Gallon, Firewood, at per 100 lbs. Straw, at per Ton of 2240 lbs. Mould and Dip Candles, at per lb. CONDITIONS, QUALITIES OF THE SUPPLIES — Ist.— All the articles to be of the best qualitiy of their several kinds. 2nd.— The Flour to be the produce of clean sound Colonial Wheat, from which 20 per Cent, in Bran has been extracted. 3rd. The Bread to be made from Flour of the same quality as described in the preceding paragraph, and to be baked 24 hours before being issued, in loaves of 21bs. each. 4th.— The Fresh Meat to be issued daily, to be delivered in fore and bind quarters alternately, when the quantity admits of it. When Beef is issued, six inches to be cut oIT the hough and neck bones. 6th.— The mixed Vegetables for the Hospitals and other Establishments entitled thereto, shall be supplied in reasonable proportions of Greens, Onions, &c. Oth.— The Firewood to be Tea Tree or other Hard wood, split, and cut into 4 feet lengths. Parties tendering are requested to observe that the most rigid adherence to these conditions will be invariably enforced.
MODEOF DELIVERY. 7tli.— No part whatever of the supplies above specified, shall be received in Charge of the Commissariat, but shall be delivered by the Contractor direqt to the persons entitled thereto, at any place within the limits of the Town, upon the written Order of the Commissariat Officer in Charge, or of any person authorised by him for that purpose.
GENERAL CONDITIONS. $th.— Each Tender sent in, in consequence of this Advertisement, to be accompanied by a statement signed by two competent Persons, and expressing their readiness, in the event of such Tender being accepted, to become security for its due performance. The penalty of the Bond to be given will be equal to the estimated Amount of three months' supplies. And it is to be understood that the sureties will be held strictly respons sible for the fulfilment of the Contractor's engagements, any failure in which will be immediately followed by the enforcement of the penalty of Bond. 9th.— The articles required for Hospitals must be comprised in one Tender,— and the same Regulation will apply to those required by Ships of War. The other articles may be tendered together or separately. 10th. -The Contractor to prepare his own account according to the prescribed form j and on the production thereof at this Office, with the requisite Vouchers in a complete state, shall receive payment Monthly, by a Bill upon the Lords Commissioners of Her Majesty's Treasury, at Par, when the Amount is Fifty Pounds or upwards : when under that Amount, Payment will be made in Cash. llth.— ln the event of any Article offered being
