The New-Zealander. SATURDAY, JANUARY, 3, 1846.
Be just and fear not: Let all the ends thou aims't at, be tViy Country's, Thy God's, and Truth's.
The ' Portenia/ brig, arrived on Tuesday last from Sydney, but brought only a small mail from New South "Wales, with newspapers to the 11th December. The « Dublin/ August London packet, had not arrived in Sydney, therefore there is no late intelligence, except from Port Phijjip, which states that the« Calliope/ 26, guns, Captain Stanley, was to Jeaye England, on the 17th August, for the Cape of Good Hope, and Auckland. It is likewise reported that the ' Daedalus' is coming here with the ' Driver/ from the Indian station. From the Bay of Islands there has been no arrivals whatever; and in the absence of any correct positive information, —we consider it quite unnecessary to propagate mere rumours. r
