Schools was concluded at Timaru j on Saturday, a draw heing the re- i sult, with the honours decidedly in j favour of the visitors. Waitaki's sec- j ond innings was declared closed with the score at 185 for five wickets, leaving Timaru, who were 32 behind on the first innings, to get 214 in 2i hours With a quarter of an hour to go, the home side had lost nine wickets for 89 runs, but the last pair defied all efforfs .to dislodge them and played out time. Henry, who opened for Waitaki, was unfortunate in not reaching the coveted century, heing caught out when he had scored 99. Although he gave a chance early, he played a fine innings, scoring with apparent lack of effort. Carrington again bowled well and captured. five wickets at a cost of 27 runs.
