FLOODS ON WEST COAST.

CHRISTCHURCH, March 23.t as the result of a very heavy rain on the West Coast and in the hills, * the rivers are- in flood again, and wash-outs are repoi'ted on the railway on both sides of the range. At the 693 xnile peg between Cora Lynn and Arthur's Pass, three lengths of rails have been swept away by a flood in the Bealey, and this evening heavy x-ain was still falling on the- other side. A wash-out is reported at Rotoxnanu, between Otira and. Greymouth. It was hoped to have the line clear there by 8 o'clock to-morrow morning. In the meantixne trafilc to and froin the West Coast is suspended, and there will be no goods traffic either way to-morrow. Passengers to the Coast will have to tranship at Cora Lynn. To-day's goods train had got through before the flood came down. It is expected that the line will be fulfy restored by Friday. ■""" 111 ■ ' ' "
